Network marketing: A prospect a day keeps your rejection away

It’s often been said that, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

Network marketers usually meet with rejections in their journey. However, by simply adopting the above cliche, you can easily keep the rejection away.

How you manage your rejections often determine whether you succeed or fail in your network marketing business. A beginner in network marketing would often think that MLM does not work after just one or a few rejections.

How does a successful network marketer manage his or her rejections?

Essentially, a successful network marketer understands that not everyone would join them in their business opportunity. Thus, they would continue to expose their business to as many prospects as possible and treat the result - whether they accept or reject - as an outcome.

Think about it. What if you meet just one prospect a day?

In a month, you would have met with thirty prospects.

Would it be acceptable to say that one in 10 would join your business? In my experience, that is absolutely achievable. In fact, as you get better in prospecting, achieving a success ratio of 2 or 3 out of 10 is really possible as I’ve personally experienced.

Thus, based on a success ratio of one in 10, you would increase your downlines by 3 each month.
Let’s make it a bit more conservative. How about only 1 out the 3 stay on in your business?

You would now have one downline to work with. As you probably know, not everyone is an experienced network marketer (how I wish that is the case!) and that’s where we need to take 100 percent responsibility as an upline and start  off the process of duplication.

Now you would be busy in leading and guiding your new business partner to get started in his or her business. And from my experience, most beginners in network marketing would take at least 1 to 3 months to get up to speed and some even take longer, up to 6 months or more.

So, before you get to finish with your new downline business partner in one month, you would have another new downline to work with the next month, and the next, and so on…

And as you would be still meeting one prospect per day, you would be far too busy to indulge in the negative feelings of rejection.

Thus, a prospect a day would keep your rejection away.
