How to build a strong ‘network’ in your internet network marketing business? Part 2 of 2

In Part 1, we talked about the fact that internet network marketing business owners as well as network marketers should be ‘networking’ in the course of prospecting…

And I met someone recently who’s a financial planner and obviously not my targeted prospect. So after two meetings, we’re happily exchanging notes about topics like financial planning, investment, business networking, etc. and we both learned a lot.

One topic that surfaced was very interesting but let me first share with a bit what this friend of mine did which I thought was quite cool.

On a regular basis, my friend would scour the Net or offline looking for relevant investment articles, tips and resources and then she’ll send out emails to her clients and prospects.

She said, as a result, she was getting calls from people interested in financial planning investment… and began to close deals even!

Indeed, as a result of her GIVING, now she’s GETTING. “Give before you get” or some simply call it “Givers gain”

And then here’s the interesting topic we got into: social networking…

We started discussing social networking in general and Facebook in particular. And I shared with her how one of our team mates started in Facebook and in just three months, now have over 500 friends!

She was stunned :-)

Yes, it’s true… just think about it: Let’s take 3 months as 100 days. If you add 5 to 10 friends a day, you’ll get there. That’s the power of FOCUSED ACTION!

It was clear that now I had her total attention and she was interested…

Next, I told her this:

-          Whether it’s network marketing, financial investment, real estate, these are ‘people’ businesses. We need to have prospects in order to succeed.

-          Social networks are where large number of people gather to either socialize or to do business together

So, if you put 1 and 1 together, wouldn’t it be a dream come true for such ‘people’ professionals to be on Facebook as well as on other professional social networks?

She was now convinced and wanted to be there… and I sent her my Facebook link:

And then she popped this question:

“How am I going to focus? Now, I got to create contents and got to network with people.”

And here’s my answer:

“Well, you’re in business and you got to create both VALUE in terms of your contents as well as NETWORK to constantly find new prospects and improve existing relationships. Say spend 1 or 2 hours a day on both activities.”

That’s what I – as an Internet network marketing business owner or professional – does every day. And I saw her nodding her head.
